Client & Pet Tags
Use tags to quickly highlight important information about clients and pets.
Client and pet tags help your team stay informed at a glance — from VIP clients to pets with special handling needs. Tags are easy to create, apply, and reference during bookings.
What tags are used for
Tags help you:
Flag important client or pet traits
Highlight special handling notes
Identify VIPs or special cases
Keep information consistent across your team
View and export tagged client or pet lists
Client tags vs pet tags
Client tags apply to the pet parent (for example: VIP, Loyal Client, Friends & Family)
Pet tags apply to individual pets (for example: Anxious, Bites, Senior)
Both are created and managed in the same place.
Creating tags
To create a client or pet tag:
Go to Settings
Under Clients & Pets, select Tags
Toggle between Clients or Pets
Choose:
👍 Positive (thumbs up)
👎 Negative (thumbs down)
Click + Add other
Enter the tag name and save
Your tag is now ready to use.

Positive and negative tags
Tags use simple visual indicators to make important information easy to spot:
👍 Positive tags
Helpful or favorable traits (VIP, Regular, Easy Pickup)
👎 Negative tags
Alerts or special considerations (Anxious, Bites, Medical Needs)
Negative pet tags surface prominently so staff can stay aware.
Using tags on profiles and bookings
Once created, tags can be applied to:
Client profiles
Pet profiles
Tags also appear on the booking details page.
If a pet has a negative tag, a red icon will appear on the booking. Staff can click the icon to quickly view important notes without opening the full profile.

Viewing and exporting tagged lists
Next to each tag, you’ll see a count of how many clients or pets have that tag.
Click the number to view a list
Export the list if needed (useful for outreach or reporting)

Using tags with discounts
Client tags can be used to automatically apply discounts for specific groups of clients.
For example:
Tag VIP clients
Set up a discount that applies only to that tag
Have the discount apply automatically at checkout

Best practices
Keep tag names short and clear
Use negative tags only for important alerts
Be consistent so your team uses tags the same way
Review tags occasionally and remove anything no longer needed
